Crash Course

Crash Course

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

The day it all changed

"

I received a crash coarse in what's really important,

and it ain't 'stuff.'

It's humanity, and creativity, and enjoying what you

do, it's all of them, sure enough!

I used to be a prisoner to the daily grinding war,

until it was all stripped away.

I had no choice but to slow down, and let all of that

go,when I awoke to a brand-new day.

Now I see glimmers of the man I used to be, quite

the downer, if you don't mind me saying so.

Always in a hurry, it was rushing here, rushing there,

dancing to the everyday, missed so much I needed to

know.

Of course, I couldn't see it at the time, was too busy

being busy to see the forest for the trees.

But now it's a different world, a different take on life

that these once-cynical eyes sees.
