Shake Your Foundations

Shake Your Foundations

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Now I question my beliefs!

"

I-yi-yo, it should shake your foundations,

I-yi-yo, at least it should, as it has mine.

Everything I used to believe about truth,

justice, and the American way, has left me blind

Oh, fricking no, I'm filled with an ill-defined

trepidation,

an uneasy feeling that, no matter how I want it to,

won't go away, won't leave me in peace

I see others acting like it's perfectly normal, these

chaotic, demonic, frightening times for us all,

they're anything but normal, it's an absolute freak-

show

I've lost my faith in people doing the right thing,

I think we've lost our way, and it fricking scares me

so!
