Future Void

Future Void

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Forecasting

"

Gaze into my crystal ball and what do I see?

An empty void where society used to be

Wasteland on T.V., both networks and politics

Empy calories, empty heads, society’s sick

Downhill run gathering strength and speed,

the older angry, the youth indifferent, urgent need

to pay attention; distracted voters scream and fiddle

Hollowed out reality with a vacant middle

Live on the edges with no room for compromise,

the old scream they’re smart while falling for lies

We’re watching a train wreck in living color,

Choose your weapon, words or deeds, one and the other
