Mexico Breeze

Mexico Breeze

A Poem by Monday Parker

My mind was much clearer in Mexico

Under the purifying orange sun

Tracing designs into the white sand

 With my painted pink toes.

I was much happier in Mexico

With all of my problems thousands of miles away

But now I am here

Back to my real world

Cold and alone

Feeling this was not enough

I rearranged

Uprooted

Reformed

And yet…Even with the changes I have made

It’s not enough to bring back that smile to my lips

The sparkle to my eyes

Its not enough

To make me stay.

Even if it’s only my thoughts drifting in the warm breeze

I will be Mexico dreaming

I think life is a series of rough roads that occasionally lead to a smooth, downhill road that allows us to coast and enjoy the sites for a while. You keep churning over your current rocky road ... you'll find 'Mexico' again

It makes a really good read. Short, compact and meaningful.
