The traveller  from Africa, he of the brand of Cain.

Was surely blind to consequence as he helped to Mix the twain! If he had seen the dismal end the Mixture would attain he'd have surely left Evolving Man and hurried home again!

 

No choice was left: the curtains up! And Time comes Marching in, Four thousand years are left for men,

To mix there follies in, until God turns again to them,

A new phase to begin, and easily men retrogress,

And swiftly turn to Sin! Smile welcome to the Devil,

And join his kith and kin! Full merrily their

Voices blend in hellish earthly din!

 

Their world most strangely fluctuates:

Progress moves everything;

Mummied flesh was a work of art when Pharoah,

 Was their King, Static Men made calendars,

To measure each passing breath, already they

Feared the swift decline, as they hurried down

to Death! Pyramids marked the care of Kings

For the spirits' after-state, and the Sphynx

still sprawls in sneering mirth, at Egypts'

'Married' Fate.

 

Evolving Men to Egypt came: mixed fathers

Loved mixed mothers; Evolving-Static influence,

Weaved a sly and cunning spell; perhaps God

Willed Evolving Men should add new strength,

To others, lest Static Men should grow too soft,

Or understand too well? 

Mayhap he meant that Static Men should

Civilise their brothers? or did he light a fire of

Life not even he could quell?

 

Sweet reason hid when men first mixed  and

Heaven also vanished; Earth challenged Satans'

Lesser Hell; the unknown God was banished!

God's crazy mixture of mankind was sullied  by

Hells' Elect, for devils crept into fluid mind,

And mingled there unchecked.

 

Thus the sons and daughters of mixed bloods

were torn by traits of both, a part of Mind

For evermore would cling to all things Static

Whilst another part would still evolve and  feel

Exceeding loath, to turn fromsteady husbandry

To anything fanatic.
