For my Pa

For my Pa

A Poem by Rachika Evelyn Fauz

He is called so many things,
He has done so much.

Strength is in him,
Flowing like blood.

A smile brighter than the Moon.
Sheds his light on the dead.

I jumped on his back,
He was my horse,
my hero too, a good companion.

things went wrong, he left.
For me, he left.

and so did i. Leaving behind my horse.
My strength.

His face so old, yet his eyes
younger than mine could ever be.

The friend in him i have.

Yellow eyed he seems, but I love him more.
The gap in his teeth tell me so much.
So much to smile about.
Yet so much to speak about.
Words of wisdom all about.

His hands ever so strong,
and to leave them would be wrong.

I love his belly.
He is the perfect Santa.
A myth sometimes,
Gone and back.

He is the pillar i cling to.
The life line i need to go on.

and in the end i call him "Pa"
