Bruised and Barren

Bruised and Barren

A Poem by Morgan Bizzak

tell us why your chest echoes, why when you remove the band-aid the wound only seems to get bigger
do those childhood scrapes ever go away?

I really like the simple idea behind this. Though some scrapes can be either mental or physical, both can turn out to be very damaging to a child. I also think the question you put at the end should actually be in the beginning to start this piece off. It would give it a better flow and more power. Anyways, good write!
