Without You

Without You

A Poem by Marvin Thomas Cox-Flynn de Graham
"

Thoughts, feelings, emotions, and hell of a f*****g lot well deserved pain and anguish of remorse's grief that shall rend my heart in twain until that day its beating refrains from doing so ...

"

Without You

Without you,

life is not worth

the living,

the breathing,

the trying,

or the dying

-- not without you …

But, I am forced,

forced, to go on,

without you --

something I do not,

I do not wish to do,

not ever of never,

No! No! No! No!

Not without you …

But, I must!

I must tell the story

of me and you,

your beautiful smile,

and your love so true,

for all the world to see,

that which was

-- you, and me:

You born 10/22/57,

me born 09/30/54,

to marry 10/27/73,

and to remarry 05/07/21,

to see your life undone,

cruelly ended 01/07/22,

the day my life ended,

gone, lost, undone, and askew,

me empty, alone, without you

-- without you, Irma, my love ...

Author's Poet's Dope Of A Note:  As I get older, still, pay bills, fill out applications for a bit of life's assistances & help, I have those folks with faces ablaze of amazed who do ever so sincerely exclaim, "Do you mean to tell me that you have five children with this one woman, and had no other woman to bed, wed, or wife!"

My answer is this, " It it is hard to say no to a woman who loves you so, though undeserving I am, a piece of s**t for a husband & a man, but she, as my devoted loving wife, stood by me to the bitter end of her own life, as a friend that I never deserved, and a wife that can never be compared to any other, of never ever of not in my life for as long as I shall live, and die ..."

I salute you, Irma, for all that you were as a devoted wife, that I, utterly, failed to be as your husband.

And she would want you to continue on, to tell the story, to find happiness somehow in future.
You obviously loved her so much...and only her. That is refreshing.

A powerful piece with so much love and sorrow in it. The years are reflected in each dedicated line written as a heartfelt Eulogy and prayer to the memories of a spirit that will never be forgotten. One that has changed a life forever and continues to do so even after life. I am sure her words of you would be just as emotionally powerful and beautiful. Thank you Marvin for sharing your poem and a piece of her with us.
