A Lovely Kind of Folly

A Lovely Kind of Folly

A Poem by Melody Telleria

Slow and gentle strum,

play the strings of my heart.

Feel the lonely timbre

that envelops me in melancholy,

surrounds me in a lovely kind of folly.

The way my pulse quickens into

a phenomenal melody that tells

the story of what you did to me by

the sharing of your mind, the partaking

of my eagerness to show a kindred spirit

the words upon my soul to which others are so blind.

And then an invitation to see, to learn,

to feel what it means to find a connection

and to understand what makes us real.

In the sensation of how we explore these

vessels our hearts reside in, peeling away layers

of the confinements we are displayed in,

seeking to expose that rainbow of vulnerability

that when allowed, graces our togetherness so beautifully.

A smile, a laugh, a sigh of resignation.

And although a world of adventure as one we can't explore,

as two lets indulge in the intoxicating challenge

of pleasing so much more.
