A Dazzling Madness

A Dazzling Madness

A Poem by Melody Telleria

Slowly dancing into a dazzling madness,

a descent down the rabbit hole of alluring decisions.

Let's skip through fields of poppy,

holding hands under the sun we gaze at in fascination.

We feel no pain, unaware of the damage being done,

the miniscule holes of fire invisibly speckling our whites.

Oh joy of life, from where does thou pour out of?

Babbling creeks of liquid therapy?

Velvety voices singing our emotions into flight?

Living double lives through the inked characters on pages

that come alive in the mind's beautiful canopy.

We settle into daydreams of exquisitely false hopes and dreams.

Let's frolic on the chessboard of mother earth,

paranoid pieces we traipse with through

the armies of good and evil extremes.

Or are we moved along with skillful cruelty,

poor souls in us fight back but the jokes on us.

Flying through the Milky Way with Father Time chasing us down,

a frantic fleeing to avoid the aging and our minds gone to rust.

All we seek is sanctuary in another galaxy,

solace in our chosen universe where we are

black holes that devour ignorance and

revel in the sharpest of fantasies.
