Lets talk about that first time we kiss/
Lets talk about the moment we miss/
about intimacy's intricacy and as we delve into its abyss

 lets talk playing that song/
the time spent planning this wrong/
the fear of perpetuating the stereotypes of some God-awefull love songs/

lets talk about you and me laughing/
lets talk about our plans overlapping/
we walk about suddenly were better, suddenly we aint only drifting/

just two souls searching 2 worlds/
2 souls, one boy and one girl/
you told me you love to be picked up by anything that isn't the tumultuous love whirl/

well, lets talk about the guy that your with/
lets talk about how I say his a Sith/
lord taking you to the dark side, there's no archetype like this/

lets talk about the texts that i sent/
pretty ridiculous the lengths that I went/
to try be serious about the situation I wont mention (i love you) cause my emotions are bent/

lets talk about if this was all true/
lets talk about if I actually talked you/
instead of a gawking at the picture of you and him headed "still together" from high school

Author's Note

mudenda martin bbela
With a name that more closely related to a show where teens talk about the current changes in their minds and bodies (more so if I used big letters and an exclamation at the end, hmmm, maybe a smiley face to accentuate its youth audience, but I digress) "lets talk" is an idea I got after reading another poem with the same alliteration written by a friend of mine from high school. I acknowledge him coz his is the poem I saw after an afternoon nap and I liked the idea of the simplicity of it, and how that would perfectly go with this simple love story. Also this is my first poem here sooooo yeah. Needless to say this is incredibly informal and its my attempt to get used to working with stresses and form. the language is just as informal

Im not sure why I just joined this. I suspect in the future I will be lying on a hammock in an expensive suit from a party the night before, cocktail on one hand on a luxuriously temperate sunday morn.. more..
