Entangled

Entangled

A Poem by M.K. JOSEPH

I have suffered a great injury
Which one day I seek to right
The author of my plight
Being you my lady

You've cast a spell upon me
That my eyes may never wander
from your face of an angel
Yet, you refuse to act in kind

Like an ocean
My affection for you is vast
Always flowing ferociously
But like a river in the mountains
Confined to a channel
that leads nowhere

I have begged and pleaded
Asked for mercy
which you have not granted
Now am left hollow, and empty, as a cave

Only if you knew how to love
Then you'd understand me
However none of this is familiar to you
For you all this, is some sort of sport
That you hope to win

But am determined
One day I will break free from this chains
And I will offend you
As you have me, with another.
