SWEET RELIEF

SWEET RELIEF

A Poem by M.K. JOSEPH
"

This is for the love of writing.

"
I do not resent you,
Though what I feel now,
Is not love and affection.
For forty nights and forty days.
I took a torturous journey far away.
Into the depths of the jungles,
I cut through.
Climbed rocks,
Harder than your heart.
Deserts I crossed,
That burnt as your scorn
And when I reached,
Oh! Sweet relief!
In the heart of the seas
Four hours I floated there
Letting you go, slowly!
As I watched the box sink
To the bottomless dark pit
The dark imaginary box in my head,
Where I had put all my feelings.
All my love for you was in there.
Yet I shed no tear.
Watching all the memories disappear
For I did not want to leave anything of mine
With you.
