Alice, oh Alice

Alice, oh Alice

A Poem by Amanda

Alice, oh Alice what a lucky girl you are,
To escape you need no magic; no wishing star.
Simply fall down a rabbit hole to utterly escape,
To a wonderland where your entire reality is fake.
No pain, no hurt, no discomfort here
As strange creatures of every sort begin to appear.

Alice, oh Alice you are one lucky girl,
You have the power to create your own world.
What I wouldn’t do for a world of my own,
Where every emotion is hidden, nothing is shown.
A place where worries go to wither away,
A place where I can be myself everyday.

Perhaps I’ve gone mad to dream such a dream,
But Alice, oh Alice you’ve heard my bloody scream.
Take me to your wonderland where nothing is real,
Maybe if I stay long enough I’ll forget how to feel.
