House on Fire

House on Fire

A Poem by Amanda

can you hear the little girl
trapped on the second floor?
can you hear the prayers she whispers
past the singed door?
through crashes and screams,
a fire gone ablaze
this is where she lives;
in a hellish death maze.

only heaven's rain can cleanse
this house on fire,
fueled by the lies
and covetable desire.
but bound by blood chains
she cannot get free,
she'll wear the burns and scars
for all eternity.

and even if that rain
came pouring down,
blood is thicker
and she'll still be bound.
