WARTS

WARTS

A Poem by Barbara Lynne
"

A SILLY ONE

"

WARTS

I see him running to me

My heart begins to race

And as he starts getting closer

I see the warts upon his face

When he finally reaches me

I want to ask, but do I dare?

I look around and all I see

So many people...how they stare

I notice his eyes are bulging

And his “middle”...the same way too

Should I run or should I stay

What's a girl like me to do?

But then he puts his hand in mine

And all that I could see

Are the words running through my mind

OH LORD...I HOPE THAT HE LIKES ME!!!

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
