MY MORNING CUP

MY MORNING CUP

A Poem by Barbara Lynne

MY MORNING CUP

How wonderful is the aroma

Of fresh brewed coffee in the morn

It fills my need to get myself going

To face the new day born

Funny how two little scoops

Can awaken the spirit that sleeps

Don't need an alarm or anything else

That blasts me with pestering“beeps”

Just one little sip in my favorite mug

Is all that is seems to take

Before I know it my eyes are opened

And my body is fully awake

A little habit but such a joy

But a must to start each day

And now I am thinking as I type

How much I would enjoy a “Latte'”

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
