THE NIGHT WIND

THE NIGHT WIND

A Poem by Barbara Lynne

THE NIGHT WIND
The windows is open the curtain blows
As I sit with my hands on the keys
A haunting feeling  fills my soul
As I listen to the crackling of trees
The rain plays a song as it taps on my window
There's a tornado watch and a storm
My shoulders are crunched, my fingers are numb
Waiting for the words of my heart to form
My wait seems so endless no words seem to flow
From my heart or even my mind
It's time for a break my body I'll take
By the fire where some warmth I will find
This cold dreary night brings a chill to my bones
As an end comes to the month of September
So I'll sip on some wine, let my memory unwind
With lovely days gone by to remember
The night wind  breathes with billowing force
And the rain  continues to be
But the peace that I find by the fire with wine
Calms the storm that's  brewing in me!!!

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
