Running on Ice

Running on Ice

A Poem by riley marie

I tie my shoes as tight as I can.
The journey ahead is long, challenging.
My legs need to propel me forward
As fast as they can,
As far as they can.
As I begin to run, I constantly fall;
It's all ice here.
I'm not used to this yet and so,
The beginning is the most difficult,
The hardest time to stay up,
And keep from falling down.
I run, I slip, I fall.
Over and over.
I'm bruised, aching,
In pain.
But I can't go back,
I can't slow down.
So I will keep pushing forward
Until I can run
Without ever slipping,
Without ever falling,
Because eventually
The pain will begin to
Subside.

This is great, I love it! It's always good to never stop, to keep going even if you fall. But it's not always easy to pick yourself up again. Well done! :)
