Simplicity

Simplicity

A Poem by Nate Olds

Day after day, our life journey becomes tedious and almost meaningless, as the seemingly defining aspects of our life become repetitive and unexciting, inciting a longing for something more inviting.
Because we become ungrateful and no longer thankful for the little things in our lives that help us pass the time.
The secret, my friend, is to not find joy in only the achievements, but all the simple things that breathe life into us.
To be only fulfilled by accomplishments is to find joy only every once in a great while.
To find joy in the everyday makes your accomplishments great, with your daily journey taking your happiness the extra mile.
Smile about simplicity and all the little things that make your world go round, because even if your life isn't going as planned, you're still above ground.
Give love and accept kindness.
Take criticism and offer compliments.
Tomorrow may not be here when you wake up in the morning so make the most of your situation and heed this warning;
Your days can be gone in an instant so why not appreciate all life's little things, you will miss it.
