Voyager I is back in communication

A Story by neurostar burns

Voyager I had mysteriously cut communication from deep space some 5 months ago.
NASA had spent time trying to find what was the problem with the very distant craft
that was launched in 1977 and has reliably sent back data on major features it traveled
by in its long space journey. Nasa recently has reduced the number of onboard operations the
space craft was to perform to save on power.
Yet five months ago the craft suddenly sent mixed messages back. NASA tried  to send many
messages to restart the communication. It took a long time, and usually each sending to the
distant craft took a day and then a day to receive information sent from the craft.
Apparently it is found some chip onboard had a corrupted code. The NASA team sent signals to
the craft to effectively circumvent the defective chip and resume messages. It was found
after some time that it worked and in April 2024 the craft was deemed by NASA to be working
it operation of transmission  normally by sending back information on the status of its
operating. Resuming it exploratory should follow with the old binary system of exchange.
