Two unknown persons are talking about vampires.

"Do you know vampires are basically sterile?"

"You got to be shitting me. No way!!!"

"Yes way."

"Prove it."

"Well, vampires weren't born to kill, they were perfect beings once."

"So, What happened??"

"Immortal beings; corrupted by time. After attaining immortality they indulged in innumerable pleasures and after thousands of years, there was nothing that they hadn't done, there was nothing that could excite them any more. They started growing weary, wanting to die but they couldn't, so instead they started killing and with the death of their prey, experiencing it for themselves."

Living for eternity does have its perceived flaws, and this is just one of them. Amplify this need for adrenaline with their time spent on Earth, possibly developing a fear of forming attachments with mortals because they would eventually die and leave the vampires to the dust, leading into something similar to envy for their mortality and causing them to inflate their egos to appear superior to us mortals. This, of course, leads to a total disregard of human life whenever dealing with the mortals due to acknowledging how truly fragile life in general is.
Interesting piece (forgive me for being so late on reviewing, aha!). Keep it up.

Vampire myth is very interesting, try searching for the Indian myths about vampires, "pisacha", we have an amazing collection of myth, I have been exploring it for a very long time. I have been writing a novel in which Pisacha play an important role.

Indian mythology is unexplored, so you can find really original ideas and amazing creatures from them, mixing them with contemporary ideas, you can literally create new original creatures and myths.
