Warm Place

Warm Place

A Poem by Haley Smith

Pluck me away from this horrendous mess

of men, if they are worthy of that title

Bottom of the barrel, lowest of the low

Take me away from this world,

of which, I had no part in its

creation

Be the one to

take me under your wing,

a warm place with no cold

grown men who have eyes that

stare too long,

and their hands in their pockets

A warm place where people are judged

for their character, not their

skin color and we are all colorblind

A warm place where fathers

embrace their daughters, rather than

disgrace them

Someone, anyone

take me to this

warm place

This is a really beautiful poem.
I love the imagery and the way you asked for the things that should already be yours.
The concept, choice of words and the detail was nice.
I enjoyed reading.

Excellent write!
