A Walking Contradiction

I've always wanted to write about oxymorons and contradictory concepts because they portray how ordinary human beings feel most of the time - Conflicted.

A walking contradiction,

That’s what I am

Too little, underachieving,

Too much, overwhelmed


 

I want to be alone,
But I also want someone to be with me

I believe I'd make it on my own,

But I am also insecure and needy

 

I want to run towards my burning passion,
But I also want to run away from reality

Too dreamy to be realistic,
Too realistic to be optimistic

 

Too liberal for conservatism,

Too traditional for liberalism

Too normal to me,
Too unconventional for society

 

Too brave to a few,
Too cowardly to embrace something new

Too pretentious to relate to,
Too negative to form a positive view

 

I’m tired of this inconsistency

Perhaps, I deserve to be happy too

But a walking contradiction, that’s what I am

So the only one who deserves to be happy is you.
