A Spark of Inspiration: MusicA Poem by Lighthouse guyWhen a young man struggles to find inspiration once again, he finds it through the art of music.I’ve lost my motivation. Where did it go? The spark that ignited inspiration, which painted fields of snow. Who knows when it will return? The spark has long been doused. Without it, I’ve taken a wrong turn, and my genius has not roused. I’ve scoured land, sea, and sky, searching for days on end. I’ve traversed fields of golden rye, and waded a river’s bend. My luck has run dry, the spark’s nowhere in sight. There’s little left to espy, on a cold and lonely night. Traveling on my mundane tour, a sensation tugs my ear. My eyes enter the music store, a sound enlivening and dear. The youth plays a melody, a ballad enchanting and sweet. Her digits massage the ivory keys, and the piano skips no beat. My eyes dilate to a full moon, my heart thumps and pounds. Such a harmonious and grandiose tune, the notes know no bounds. It has been too long. I’m elated it has returned. Thanks for the glorious song. You, the spark who I have yearned. © 2016 Lighthouse guyAuthor's Note
