contradicted non-fiction

A Poem by jazz

modern knowledge is nothing more than
a cliff note of prior complex thoughts.
we're lost summarizing the past to predict
the future on main ideas yet,
we forget about the details!
what's a suspect without the jail tat?
without the scar beneath his left eye
in the face of officer m a r t i n ez
screaming something about revolution.
a society based on rewards.
they bust their 9 to 5 weekdays
for friday nights.
friday night lights color red and blue
fireworks on my wall
my window facing robbie's conviction
in jail with rapists
just for trying to catch a high.
thirty year olds don't raise kids,
they exit to discos
get drunk
and rush home in mustangs to make curfew.
we're the oldest generations of children
known throughout the ages, yet
i'm infant like infantry
prepared for warfare.
ready for a change in the tides.
my community is the two legged serpent
in the garden of eden.
my life is nothing but a footnote
in the context of a piece of work
not even worth mentioning
