"The Power to Refuse"

 

I refuse to accept the truth

As it will change with time

Nor do I let myself be strangled

By the devil of my own insidious lie

 

Failure was never an option

Though they pile up making my heart soars

Pulverizing the shadow of the past

With that I can’t let myself grow old

 

My future is bright and glorious

All I need is to take the first step

I refuse to accept the truth

Stop the grieving and that I should act

 

Hypnotized from the path of success

By the fallibility of my naive young self

It was an inevitable lesson for me

To learn that life is rough

 

I refuse to accept the truth

No matter how correct it would be

Soon everything will be rewritten

With my success as I was born to be

The final stanza gives it a great strong energy filled and determined ending. I also love the idea of truth changing.
