On The Brink

Final Chapter of Life

Wrapped inside the cloud of pain

And managing a ride of oblivion

Delirious but my character isn’t stained

And I will die but I won’t be dead

 

Wall closes in and in between I start to bounce

Finally Death has come to claim me

But flashes of lucidity bring forward no doubt

That Death can’t claim my good karmic actions

 

For they will resonate throughout the eternity

And death is just a part of life itself

Courage to face death was long before born through my charity

Of physical, mental, faith and belief

 

Through the escalating wrath of life, I rose victorious

By eradicating ego-centric way of human life

Every success of mine was shared, how glamorous

And it is just nature for things to pass away

Author's Note

The fact that I am Buddhist makes this poem I suppose. Buddhism is all about peace. Cast aside the fact that many people especially westerners would like to prefer Buddhism not as a religion, Buddhism never offers anything but peace and it never claims other paths are wrong. And I would not tolerate ill comments towards Buddhism since the religion itself never attacks other religion's philosophy and always pays respect other people belief. Even if you treat Buddhism like a kind of mind therapy by learning its doctrine, you will find it very useful in life to overcome suffering. And it is narrow minded to criticize something that you don't really understand about and most of all, something very peaceful.Cheers..Thanks for reading..

I have seen mainly good death in my life. People were ready for the final journey. I like the logic of this poem. We shouldn't fear death. Life and death is common for all living things. Thank you for the amazing poem.
