St Patrick's Day

St Patrick's Day

A Poem by Olmsted A. T.

St Patrick's Day
We had a lot of fun at the Irish Discotheque
getting drunk on stolen nips of Jameson
while we took turns making up dry burns
about the puker in our parking spot

We spilled much more than we drank
clanking our glasses every chance that we got
offering free shots to those who’d say they’d join our cause
and help us… sing along …to… Danny Boy!

Oh Danny Boy the pipes they are a calling
from glen to glen and I forget the rest…

We listened to bad 70’s renditions
of "Roddy Mccorly" and "Courting in the kitchen"
and "Bog Down in the Valley" Oh Oh Oh

I won’t discuss the minute details
of how we got bailed out of the slammer
I’ll just end this song by saying
that we were way too f*****g hammered

I stayed out till about 4:30
I came home destitute horny and dirty
woke up the next morning
shackled to a female astronaut
and I tell ye I can’t wait
till next St. Patrick’s day
to do it all again
