Land and Sea and Time

Land and Sea and Time

A Poem by Hannah Erickson

The beginning of your nights are the middle of my days,
And as you are waking before the dawn,
I am closing my eyes to chase the dusk away,
But I think of you in these times
And imagine what your offset schedule entails
Though land and sea and even time may separate our bodies
Nothing can put distance between our one heart.
I sense your love radiating from all that surrounds me.
I see your face in my dreams
And feel your warmth in the heat of the sun.
You are always here, just as I am always with you.
Hold onto that when you feel that there is nothing else.
In the end, all that matters is our love.
With it, we are invincible.

About
This is the only place where my writing from high school still exists. A lot of it is embarrassing to adult me, but I'm not going to begrudge teenage me of her thoughts and feelings. I may add som.. more..
