Christmas wish

Christmas wish

A Poem by other_
"

dumb title

"

I desire

Someone to take hold my arm

in matching wool coats

as we stroll down the cobble stones

Gazing at the Christmas displays

Someone to rest their head on my shoulder

to squeeze life into my sullen body

to be content in the moment

Because love is more than enough

Someone to walk hand in hand

swinging gleefully like school children

spinning, twirling, kissing

As though it was our first dance

very sweet. It evokes a sense of innocence, which is refreshing. The format was a little strange, but I enjoyed it. Well done!

i can relate to this on so many levels. hopefully this Christmas.

too, thank you so much for your thoughtful reviews of 'Grief' and "Wherefore Art Thou?'. As you noticed, I'm quite horrible at punctuation and line breaks and honestly, know very little about poetry. I just write and then have quite a bit of difficulty editing later. That said, you seemed to be rather intuitive in your break down of both these works. I found your take interesting, analytical, and also refreshing. i liked it.

Thanks again, and this piece rings all too familiar... of longing. nice work!
