The world built in my own image

The world built in my own image

A Poem by Jeff Overton

In this imagerinary world of mine
Their would be no crime
There would be no suffering
There would be no wrong doing
Or suing
No divorces shall be permitted
You made those vows so stay committed
And in this place that resides in my mind
Their would be no hatred there would be no war and in the air, planes would no longer soar
And troops would lay down their weapons and shake hands
The sands and cobbled roads would no longer be marred with crimson stain
And the humanity in us all would wash away that stain like newly laid rain and we'd  rebell against all that is hell
And quench those burning flames with many tears
And our fear shall disapate
And the world would start to mend
Now we no longer have to defend
This world that resides in my head
I hope i get to see it
Before i draw my last breath.
