I wrote this poem for a man I cared about in 1970 ... Free Verse - Aligned right

               

               G

His grey-blue eyes

      illuminated by

                the light,

     saw me as I am.

                   Naked,

    I sat before him,

         unclothed of

         false dreams,

      and white lies.

This is profound... with few words you have captured one's truly vulnerable self... no armour, no masks, no barriers.... We have so many layers that we put on/use to safeguard ourselves... only a true connection can see through all that. Hope it's a nice day in Spain :)

You are such an angel to review my very old poem.
I never changed one word of it and was a bit nervous about submitting it but with your dear review I am feeling braver and so decided to submit three more..
I love the word gem.. I the early 70's it was all about being who we really were...many went into the drug scene...to discover themselves..not me... thank goodness,
