Prologue: Dusk

Author's Note: Anala--headstrong, assertive and resilient--is a fervent supporter of the underground Resistance when a totalitarian government usurps the throne of England. Her companion and best friend during the war that follows, Connor, agrees to accompany her on a top-secret mission in an effort to overthrow the new dictator, Premier Helling. When both of them are suddenly caught and arrested, however, life takes an interesting but painful turn for Anala as she is forced to witness the steady decline of Connor while trying to resist the mind games Damian, son of Premier Helling, seems only too eager to play.
