Steady Streams and Rushing Rapids

Steady Streams and Rushing Rapids

A Poem by Paige

I was traveling between two poles of truth
On the right end I swam through love
A slow under water dance that never felt like drowning
The water would fizzle over my skin in light tickles
The laughs that fell off my tongue pounded the surface in bursts
As sweet as it was I worried where was the challenge?
Didn't I need something to chase?
I had always had a predator's eye after all

The left end felt different in every single way
I would lift to the surface peeking my eyes above where I no longer could breath
Curiosity pushed my lungs to quiet so my eyes may feast
Next I would dive so deep the darkness kept me from recognizing my own fingertips
The fear kept me intoxicated
I  was in constant chase
Running from the unseen
Chasing unasked answers
These waters made me wonder how resting felt

Paige,

You write in a way where it's impossible for me to not feel so many different emotions. You write how I write and I love that.

"I always had a predictors eye after all"

The devilish grin this created...so, so good!
