Her Corner Pieces Kept Me Infatuated

Her Corner Pieces Kept Me Infatuated

A Poem by Paige

She tests you
She'll call in all her unbearable traits to your front door
You step into her frozen bits and fall to your back
You try to shield yourself from her cold touch but she slips in the windows and around your neck
The trees bend to her howls
and when she yells even the windows shutter
She hides away the warmth that nestled in her eyes not long ago
You curse her name
You swear you're leaving
She won't be the one that cradles you through the night

And then...

A beautiful moment that lasts only but a day
She smiles on you and before you feel it too deep cools you with a breezy touch
She begins to let you see the mysterious side of her you fell for
The busy way her inter tracks of mind process
The way she has every answer in her heart if you'll only just ask the question
You're suddenly given the corner pieces to a beautiful puzzle
You decide in your boyish gaze and child like giggle to see her through a little longer

Finally you fall through a sunset and wake up at victory's door
The smell of her nectar perfume haunts through your open heart windows
The sounds of laughter and wind chimes fill your eager ears
Your smile is full of adventure as you throw on the lightest dress you own
You race out your door to grasp a fistful of her love
You've been graced with her gifts

You feel her chill setting in..
You retreat to your room
The blankets are different now
It takes two
You're curled up and peering at the woman you knew
Is the heartache of her changing mind worth it to you?
Can your armor with stand another seasons berating blows

You press your frozen fingers as close as you can bear
and in the smallest voice whisper: a fight for such beauty is more than fair

i thoroughly relished your poem - the oscillation of emotions convey rather aptly. Cheers

I know many chicks like this, you captured the different changes perfectly. It seems there are always two opposite sides to people and you may never know what side you will get. Not bad kid.

Emotions are a lot like season...ever changing, times they are bitter and harsh while there are those moments that are warm and alluring. I loved your work and could feel the temperature of my body change with every shift in this poem. Thank you for sharing a piece of you.
