May I Call You Sweetheart?

May I Call You Sweetheart?

A Poem by Britteny
"

Friends or more than friends? Sometimes the heart wants what it can't have.

"

Can I call you my sweetheart

And know that we will never part

Although I often set back the urge

These emotions I can not purge

I often see myself in your arms

Safe from the rain, safe from all harm

But that is where the vision does fade

You would never come to my charade

Moments sweet like these

Envoke sweet sweet memories

They are just illusions but just as fond

Calm like the waters of a pond

Not to be interpreted as much

I wish though you would touch

My lips to yours so smooth

Yet I wait for you to move

Never does it come

In a plantive cry I hum

Of the time together never spent

We don't hate we don't repent

Just too closen for friends

Yet to far for companionship to comprhend

So if it does slip slip on my part

Please remember it's just my heart

DO ignore it's despertate cries

For all I want true love no lies

Unless you feel the same

raw emotions come forth to tame

You say you love me too

I will be hushed by a love so true
