A Poem by Britteny
"

A poem written during high school while reading Night...I am not Jewish but that doesn't excuse anything that was done during this time....

"

I hear the footsteps on the stairs

I see the soilder's icey cold glares

Through the key hole on my door

Fear petrafies me to the core

Why do people have to be

So very mean to people like me?

In a cold attic I must hide

Until this genocide subsides

The people here risk everything

Giving me a change to bring

My story through this time

And tell of this henious crime

Things just don't make sense

Hitler kills the Jews hence

We all run and take cover

But the thought of camp hovers

Mustard gas experiaments what should I do

A cousin here a friend there

All on religion it's not fair

Can people just see the horror this is to be?
