A Chapter by paul

the madman has a headache.
the night outside, stays outside. at least
he is high on drugs. He realizes words
have a magic effect. The magic
lies between the words. breathing bores him.
The madman watches television. He
understands comedy.

if he understands comedy he's not nearly as mad as he thinks he is...however, what passes for comedy in the 'canned' sense of television sit-coms requires a certain level of dementia as admission fee...then there's the drugs and loneliness and the headache...i'm afraid our caustic civilization seeped through his pores and cauterized his heart...for all that, he needs lots of fresh air and sunshine and the company of trees
