Skip the Youth

Skip the Youth

A Poem by Paul McKendry
"

.

"

Skip the youth.

The generation lost to untouched souls,

depression, tuition fees and no prospects.

Fast forward this Lord.

This momentary lapse in society.

We are the dying at the scene.

The flame retardant furniture in Gods front room.

Unwanted and left to rot

in wooden skips and concrete caves,

until we are turned to nothing.

Open it up.

Dance on sole beaten floors

and allow alcohol to cushion the fall.

Open it up,

and close it.

We are the living who are already dead.

The scapegoat family left to suffer.

Guinea pigs poisoned in with acid veins.

Kept by fallen tyrants past

who fed upon abortions and greed.

Open it up

and keep it.

Open it up

and watch the youth,

burn.
