The New Eden

The New Eden

A Poem by peppino ruggeri

Man’s roar is again grieving Earth

His cannons shaking painted glass

His bullets piercing meek and  true

The blood of God’s children

Is drenching Holy ground

God doesn’t see the slaughter

He doesn’t hear the sound

Cries of desperate hearts

Are dispersed in violent fumes

Prayers of empty souls

Are floating without aim

Men invoke God’s name

Ignoring the Will Divine

Feeling no guilt or shame

When man’s final whimper

 Is drowned by gentle rain

The universe in stillness

Its harmony will regain

Blooms will welcome bees

Symphonies will be composed

From the tweets of chickadees.

Man creates his own destiny, I think. God has nothing to do with it. Good poem.

Thanks. I agree. But man destroys.
