Undone

Undone

A Poem by perfectlyadapted
"

double knotting won't keep em' down

"
Undone
like shoelaces bouncing free during a run
twisting from their knotted life
striving to flap in the wind
but the liberation is short-lived
when the runner stops to catch his breath
he brings about the mingling death of
Free, Flapping, shoelaces
by stooping low to the ground
with shaking hands pulls around
up, over, and down
the heads of the untangled laces braiding
and weaving their confinement
creating with sweating fingers their final destination
back where they belong
knotted and done
