CHAPTER 11: Rian

CHAPTER 11: Rian

A Chapter by preposterous

"Listen, if you don't shut up, I'mma do it myself, you got that?" I shouted.
Mason scowled at me. So what if we're brothers? Fighting evens out the bumps, not every friendship is a smooth ride. I ran back into my room and slammed the door shut. Seconds later, I heard the annoying punk songs booming in the room next to mine, Mason's room.
"God D****t! TURN THE MUSIC DOWN, A*****E!" I screamed.
Moments later I heard Mason's arrogant reply. "Can't hear you over these jams, bro!"
I groaned. Mason was around 13, I actually I don't know because I don't keep track and don't care. He was going through his emotional goth phase. He pierced one of his ears and tried to pierce the other but was still weeping with pain. What a wussy.
"Stupid Mason, he's not even listening to anything I say!" I muttered.
"Calm down, he's goin' through a phase, he'll be in and out before you know it." replied Cricket, my girlfriend.
Lemme give you the lowdown her:
Cricket Summers, 17. Five feet of pure beauty and pain. She can beat your a*s before you know it. She's got this cinnamon colored hair down to her hips.
"No way, I remember when I was goin' through it, and it took me months and months to get out."
Cricket tossed and turned on my bed, she held a paper plate. On top it looked like a slice of mozzarella cheese.
"Rian, you want some cake?"
I turned around and looked at her. She held a fork in her other hand with a chunk of the cake.
"What flavor?" I asked curiously.
Cricket snorted and gave me a "What-do-you-think?" look.
"Cheese." she replied.
"Cheese cake?" I asked.
"Cheesecake, idiot." she announced and shoved it into my mouth.
God, this room was a mess. Should make Cricket clean it, or mom. Dad wouldn't do it, gettin' drunk all the time at night after work, then coming home late with his cheeks all red and goes straight to bed.
"Cricket, you think we'll be together forever?" I asked. It was an idiotic question that I had just pulled outta my think cap.
Cricket shrugged and said "Rian, we've been together 'fer a month. I doubt we'll make it another 5 years or so."
I pouted. This wasn't the answer I wanted.
Cricket moved a bit closer to me and picked my chin up with her finger.
"But don't bet on it." She grinned and gave me a peck on the lips.
