Our Relationship

3/01/11 - A Muse Poem

We talk in the morning.
We chat at night.
She breaks up with me
after a fight.
Then she starts flirting
with me again.
Kissing my cheek
every now and then.
I ask her to dance,
but she plays hard to get.
She has done this
ever since we met.
She likes to leave me hanging,
so I know she's in charge.
It's why I rarely write
anything too large.
She demands we dance
when I'm trying to sleep.
Without her dance,
it's just a faith leap.
She plays with my head,
as well as my word.
How fickle she is,
is just so absurd.
I'm not always sure
about our love affair.
But to leave my dear,
I wouldn't dare!
And I'll tell you what,
I just love her so,
and I never want
my muse to go.

Fickle they can be. And none is more fickle than mine who likes to clear off on her frequent holidays before returning home bearing small gifts and false kisses :)) This morning she told me to leave her in peace and write the first thing that came into my head. Relatable subject. I enjoyed the read.

Oh how I relate to this poem! The muse is brilliant enthralling yet so unpredictable. You never know when she'll want to dance. It could be when one is in the middle of an urgent corporate meeting or on a run somewhere and then she'll just change her mind and decide to stay away, after all. A great poem on inspiration!
