Hospice, Final Theme

Hospice, Final Theme

A Poem by Rc R. Vagilidad
"

I dont want to add more sorrow to their life. I want an end, not a tear in the eyes but a tribute.

"

Everything must end

And tonight, I’ll see them fly

Across the spectrum

Enlightening the holy ground

From where their footsteps

Are slowly subduing

With their angels

Not all are lucky

To see the light from the sky

Their bodies are absorbed

By the raging wrath of Earth

Their eyes reflects their regret

Which I’ve been wondering

Since their last breathe

With their heads

Being held between my arms

Now, the sky is enveloped

By the choir of sorrow

Dealt with the blinding light

And the siren of death

And the claws of Hell

Are with my post-patients

I cannot do anything more

But to feel their whole life

The time so precious

I cannot forsake

A wonderful gift you give these people, just by being there and caring the way you do. It shows in your writing.

"Ill see them fly
Across the spectrum
Enlightening the holy ground
From where their footsteps
Are slowly subduing
With their angels" - I agree, this part was breathtaking.

The entire piece is great!

Beautiful job. You've expressed your sorrow quite well. Powerful and emotional. Great piece.

I like this. I still think the original Hospice piece was the best, but what can I say - I'm very cynical when it comes to franchises.

I like this verse particularly:

Everything must end
And tonight, Ill see them fly
Across the spectrum
Enlightening the holy ground
From where their footsteps
Are slowly subduing
With their angels

This is an amazing interpretation of the transformation from earth-bound to ethereal. I think you've done quite well. I think some punctuation and some reformatting of stanza 2 would help fineline it to also flow smoothly with stanza 1's greatness and I honestly think that stanza 3 needs some slight work. The end was kinda...meh...

But it's very good. Overall, I like it a lot.

Another very impressive offering from you, Mr. Vagilidad.

This is insightful and educational to a certain degree. You display your heart and the desire to ease suffering and help during the transition is such a difficult and selfless act. -Leah

This is most bitterly beautiful. I have sat in the hospice ward with a few loved ones and I know this emotion. I have SO MUCH respect for hospice personal, they are wonderful and special people. Without them I do not know how I or many others could have dealt with this time.

Thank you for shining light on this very important role in life's journey which happens to be very close to my heart.

As for the piece, it was vividly written and very capturing. I am still gently weeping and will read it many more times. It will be on my fave. list, as well.

In the last four years, I've gotten to know some of the other residence in the nursing home where my mother lives. It is sad to see the lives of mothers, fathers, and wives come to this conclusion, but at the same time, it's like a train depot where the people come to wait for their ride to eternity. I've watch people there as they were dying, and it puts a different perspective on living.

This was very well written, my friend.
