The Oncoming Storm (Doctor Who)

The Oncoming Storm (Doctor Who)

A Poem by Tyler James Mathieson

Something I wrote from Doctor who

Warriors come
and Warriors go
Some come with guns
Swords and bows
Most come to kill
To maim and to slash
Arrive with a shout
And leave with a dash
And yet there are others
The ones that are rare
The ones that will help
The ones that still care
There is one that stands out
Well above the rest
Through all time and space
He is put to the test
He doesn't do it for glory
Nor the praises of fans
He does it because
He's the only one who can
While others come and go
He is the one that will stay
The one you can count on
Each and every day
No weapons he carries
Always searching for peace
But when his friends are threatened
All good will, it will cease
His name is the Doctor
He is the last of his kind
No better brother in arms
No better friend you could find
He has his companions
Those that help in his fight
Those that offer their service
And only do what is right
Together they'll stand
At the center of all
Pulling the strings
And preventing the fall
So the Angels may come
And the Silence may fall
Shadows may be counted
But on him we can call
He's the protector of the weak
And the oncoming storm
You'll never have to worry
And you can sleep safe and warm
Because the Doctor will save us
So hope will never be lost
The Doctor will defend us
No matter what the cost
