One of Many

One of Many

A Poem by Michael Turnbull

I've tried to fight this creature off, His name

I can't recall

He takes away the things I believe, just strips

Them away all

No help to think of nicer things, He still

comes right on in

My mind is but a sponge for Him--I soak

up all the sin.

I think lots of people have this presence that comes into their minds, a black angry soul demon that threatens to destroy who we are in the inside, and out. this poem does a wonderful job describing that overwhelming presence.
