Broken Fairytale

Broken Fairytale

A Poem by Katrina
"

A friendship being torn apart by a boy, jealousy, and selfishness.

"

Is this a fair price

For the happiness I've found

You waited for my high

To give me the letdown

I fought, I tried

I prayed, I cried

Of corse it wasn't enough for you

I pushed, I shoved

I hated, I loved

But that's not what you wanted me to do

Call me selfish if you must

But take a look in the mirror

It used to be foggy

But now it couldn't be clearer

I won't give up the boy

That you gave up long ago

He's helped me back up

When my "best friend" never showed

For you to give us up

Over an old romance

Says just enough

I guess that's our last chance

You kept telling me

This was done with

You didn't have to lie

Now it's too late

No more need to try

I won't pretend I won't miss you

I won't pretend there won't be tears

'Cause now there's no more baking

No best friend to conquer my fears

Girl, you mean the world to me

You always came before him

I wish you could've told me the same

But I guess I can't always win.
