River Over Stone

River Over Stone

A Poem by Cheryl Bousquet

Pains of the past

Fears yet released

Happiness once sought

Dreams do cease

Controlled were you then

Silenced did become

In the loss of another

Free did become

No longer bound

Choices now do make

A life of meaning

Give more than take

One step at a time

Carve a path of your own

Open does a world

Greater than you’ve known

Embrace all that’s change

As a river flows over stone

Each day in gratitude

Thankful how you’ve grown
