The Urging Call

The Urging Call

A Poem by Poetic Beauty
"

A COLLABORATIVE POEM WRITTEN WITH SEAN M ADAMS

"

Before her scanning eyes lies a hall
Winding down into a black end
Darkness does whisper its urging call
Softly her footsteps do begin

Moving with silent careful steps
Feeling the way with blinded sight
Shuffling, to make sure footing is kept
Unexpected sounds give me a fright

Without prior notice, opens a door
Squeaking in protest against its hinges
Anxious for what might be in store
Apprehensive as her mind cringes

Dismal light invades her eye sight
Muffled sounds flooding eager ears
Crouched down she sat to the right
Mumbling about twisted past fears

Onyx hair spilling around her face
Rocking slow holding her white knees
Whispers of loving lost in this place
Lifting her bobbing head, asking please.

Darkness a cold mysterious breeze spreads around the room

Inside her broken heart is a flaming pathway to hell

Past memories of love her scarred mind will consume

No mirror to call upon her dreams reality cracks the fairytale

Chill bumps tattoo her porcelain skin

The devil’s curse is a haunting glow of shadowy life

The walls bleed with her tears of pain and sin

Caught between two worlds mixed with sorrow and strife

No reflection in the mirror tonight

Her wounded soul floats through the wall dragging her chains of shame

A lonely apparition of the circular moon night

The mourning winds whimpers calling out her name

Reaching for the twilight sky her fading hands makes her realize that she’s a ghost!

Forever stuck inside a midnight world of her own home

The supernatural glistening stars highlight upon her house lost amongst the foggy coast

Now upon the halls and musty rooms her spirit will roam

Darkness does whisper its urging call

Softly her footsteps do begin

Before her scanning eyes lies a hall

Winding down into a black end!

Author's Note

Poetic Beauty
I asked Sean M Adams to collaborate with me on this poem. For me he is the horror go to guy and I wanted this poem to be dark and I don't typically write horror so his half made this poem what I wanted it to be.

Hey, I really like your line:

"Without prior notice, opens a door
Squeaking in protest against its hinges
Anxious for what might be in store
Apprehensive as her mind cringes."

Nice blend into the horror/suspense genre. It is fun to collaborate too, right? Anyway, nice to see you are using your name:)

I wished to have been able to stay in old houses with dark and scary places. I like this poem. Create a feel of unknown and question. Pace and story kept my attention. A excellent poem.

Haunting and horror are indeed the words to describe this piece. Loved reading it. Very dark and very strong. Excellent piece!
